My reason for asking. Here's the diamond in a Heer Alter Art cap I recently had. The carmelization of the material was a subject of much suspicion recently.
I would be really interested to know more about this material and what kind of coating was used? wax maybe?
and an everywhere taged cap...
That's one stunning cap. NCO but with champagne lining?
Stunning, such an attractive combination, the black and gold.
Dear Ben, I was away on a long, complicated and exhausting business trip. The cap I posted with the VA SS tag is from the Wolfe Hardin collection and I have an image of it somewhere. It is the cloth peaked field cap wanted by all and owned by nearly none. This sort of cap diamond was used also in US caps of the second world war era. The Wille cap posted by our French friend is very nice. It is a species of the year 1937 or so. Yet another kind of Sonderanfertigung.
Happy head wear to all.
Hi "FB", welcome home after your trip.
Hi Ben, I don't know the name for this coating either but it is certainly a period "thing" which I have observed in British caps too.
Cheers, Ade.
Guys, the thread is renamed to SS RZM tags, due of here is not only tags for greatcoat, and I stuck the thread. I will update ASAP that thread with the pictures I have
