You do not mean here to doubt the authenticity of this item, do you?

No FB. Why else would I place the link in the other thread?
I just started the new thread now it's in my possession. Maybe stupid but in a new fresh thread with my own pictures.
I was making threads of the stickpin and the eagle aswell. This came last...

As of the 1944 rank list (Dienstalterliste), the HQ of said unit was Weimar.

Others here can give you earlier locations.

Thanks FB, but what do you mean with 'as of the 1944 rank'?

"Rank list" not "rank". The 1944 rank list or officers' seniority list [Dienstaltersliste] has a listing of all of the A-SS' Oberabschnitte, Abschnitte, Fußstandarten and the various specialist units (equestrian, motor, signals and engineers).

Said list has Abschnitt XXVII as headquartered in Weimar and subordinate to Oberabschnitt Fulda-Werra.

Originally, this Abschnitt had been headquartered at Gotha; but it was moved to Weimar in 1937.

Known commanders of San.-Abt. XXVII were Dr. Fritz Zinganell (from 1936 to 1938) and Dr. Wolfgang Franke (from 1938 to 1944).

Bravo. With the rise of the digital epoch, this information is easily at hand.

No SS collector should be without the easily had reprints of the Dienstalterliste and some are already on line and even more readily at hand.

Thanks to our Andreas, who always sets the example of historical research.
