On another site, the original collar tab is attributed to some personality. Maybe the thing is home made, which I am also sure is quite possible.
To each his own, of course.
The thing is, though, cardboard does not wear at all and does not endure moisture, either.

I have no idea. Maybe it is true, but if any doubt adheres, then why bother?
