A common habit these days: "stealing" from the Internet or whatever.
It happens all the time. No person these days asks permission or
thinks about copyright (as this still exists).
There is no need to remove the photo, but a proper credit to mr.
Klaus D. Patzwall would have been great!
An SS-Mann of the LSSAH wearing collar patches with black-and-aluminum piping and early-model shoulder boards (with the large "LAH" cypher and white piping) on an army-model field blouse with dark green collar.
The black-and-aluminum collar- and collar patch piping for enlisted ranks/NCOs were officially discontinued for field grey uniforms in August 1940, but were already often omitted before that date.
(He is a war correspondent photographed during the Western Campaign of 1940. The photo appears in the 1941 book Waffen-SS im Westen. Ein Bericht in Bildern by Friedrich Zschaeckel.)
I stand in awe, other than his name and inside leg measurement who could provide more. Truely this site is blessed with experten.
Thanks, Robert H.
People nick from all over and at any time, above all from
websites and eBay. Without scruples. Occasionally even
removing the watermark and then "claiming" the photo
is theirs property! Adorn with borrowed plumes!
I am not pleased at all with this behaviour. A disgraceful
affair! And we all know photographs do costs these days
a lot of money! Twenty-thirty years ago the prices for
photos were quite low. Just a few bucks; these days a
great photo will cost quickly 50-70 euro and when it is
something special one hundred or more. For my eagle-
book I paid for one photo 250,- euro. But, I needed it
and wanted to show this photo........
