Totenkopf collar tab: Real or Fake?

I like the front, but I've never seen a backing like this on an original tab. What are your opinions?

This is a original design, but the back has been done later I think, you also see that the edges has been cut-off.

Hi , I think someone added the backing to stabilize the tab as it looks as though it was deteriorating pretty badly with age. Leon.

Looks like there was a sales sticker on it some time ago. Perhaps it was
glued into a scrap book, and the backing paper simply trimmed
to match the shape and size of the tab.........?

The backing does look like leather.

This could well be the rotted remains of a grave dug tab...

This is a fine used pumpkinhead skull tab. I think that someone just added the extra backing to sabilize the tab. If you look at the front you can see the buckrum coming thru and see that itshows a weave pattern. No problem with this one. If you don't want it I will take it off your hands.
