Totenkopf divison cuff title: original or not?

Hello! I wonder if anyone can help me with this totenkopf cuff title.

Is it original or not? The seller says it´s original but I don´t know. Is there anyone who please can help me.

Hello! Thanks Howitzer428 for your opinion. After looking at the "cuff title" treed above I´m willing to agree with you. It doesn´t look like the "pepper and salt" style on the backside of them. Maybe they have used original RZM tags on the backside to give them a more original look.....

Hi Mike, these are "RZM" pattern cuff titles, not "Bevo" machine woven style and as a result are are not covered in my pinned thread.

Both are fake.

The Totenkopf one dates from the 1980's. These try to be a flatwire woven type but are incorrect in form.

The Reichsfuhrer SS is bad due to the fluffy backing material on the back to reinforce the embroidery. This was not done in WW2 and is modern.

Ade do you think you will do a thread on how to spot fake RZM woven cufftitles like you BEVO thread?

I will attempt to one in the future.

But the waters are much more muddy in this field.

There are out and out fakes made in worldwide now. Some are easy to spot. I would put the two shown in this old thread into the latter group.

However, there are much more dangerous fakes of the RZM pattern titles. The old Viennese made fakes from the 1970's continue to fool people. These have 6 strand wire borders. More tricky still are stocks of original blank bands which have been used as the basis for fakes. So there you have something which is part original.

At present, true Flatwire titles are not reproduced.
