Totenkopf Stickpin-Purpose?

I've added an odd one to my collection...It's a period piece, so I'm not questioning authenticity...But I'd sure like to know who, when, where someone would wear such a badge...? The Totenkopf on the LegionCondorTankBadge has similar features. Any ideas would be appreciated!

Never saw it. Don't like the quallity. I think it's not genuine.

I've never seen one like it either, but I know the family this came from. It was found with a DLV Glider Tinnie in a sewing box in Bayern...hence my question.

Would be kind of counterproductive for those guys to announce their prescence with a lapel pin.

There was a 1920's patriotic organization that predates the Nazi organization that you're thinking of.
