Unusual SS tabs

Some odd looking SS runed tabs I've come across over the years in texts. First one is from from an Osprey Men at Arms book on the Waffen SS. The caption says "typical manufacture" but it looks custom if anything.



The second is apparent that it is period yet odd, it worn by SS man and artist Wilhelm Peterson.





A very "Nordic" profile I might add, so too his wife lol , anyway what do people here think?

Certainly not "typical manufacture" on those top runes, lol...Crude and uneven, in my opinion...
You'll find quite a few errors in books as your knowledge grows in this hobby...

Hard to tell from the original illustration but I would also agree that these are not typical manufacture, as they look more to me to be "foreign" made and are more like those made in Belgium, possibly by the firm Reitz.

Here is a tab very similar to the one worn by wilhelm.David i think what Harry is quit rightly saying is the hobby is always learning new discovery's some of the older book may contain information that at the time of publishing was seen as correct that could now be incorrect.
