W-SS Tunic for a Sturmbannführer from Rgt Westland

Article about: One does not see original, untouched SS officer tunics come out of the woodwork much anymore, but here is one such example I had the pleasure of inspecting today:

Another possibility worth bearing in mind is that he was promoted to his final rank after his service with Westland:

SS personnel transferred to a unit or command that was not or not yet authorized a distinctive cuffband retained their former ones.
Well said and informed analysis. David Delich also blesses this item, too, as I passed the data to him.

In connection with an item of this kind, it follows the cap badge (Totenschaedel) and the Waffenfarbe Waffen SS peaked cap as the source of the greatest mayhem and collector lunacy in these spaces.

A Sturmbannfuehrer is a very high rank in the SS, and in the Waffen SS. Such notwithstanding, two other authentic objects of this type have recently been for sale, i.e with Kelly Hicks and from Bill Shea.

    Happy foetid woolens.
