Thanks, Bruce, and one sees above no Wiener Naht....nor the belt ramp qua buttons that are the norm....

When I think of the extremes I have gone for the "Wiener Naht," then I am compelled to blush.
The good fakes include all these features, actually, and some to an alarming degree.

One of the traits of these fakes, however, is just again these rear seams, which tend to be poorly executed.

Buy and read Uniformenmarkt in the nifty CD format, and you will know why!

This piece here is a fine example and has a wonderful patina.

These things have also vanished from the market, somehow, whereas five or so years ago they popped up with some frequency.

    Did you buy them all?

courtesy Robert Hassler this image of the real McCoy as it were..

Our colleague Hassler is a fine man and a great finder of wonderful rarities of all kinds.

One of you has your fingers on the ranks lists and can tell us who these men were.

They do not seem very comfortable on the box in some bivouac somewhere.
they seem to be resting after a little parading. nice white gloves, shiny helmets, nice parade mounted medals.

Not likely. I do not know for certain, but such is seldom the case with an object of this kind. Based on the images, the thing is an old BGS or some kind of paramilitary or police tunic of the 1960s that has been tarted up to this state.

Look at the original pieces and think about them.

or this overlooked detail... for those of you with the word "minty" on your lips all the time, such a sight might put you off, but for the rest of us, such a thing is called "patina. "
