I do not share that opinion of Heydrich. He was a good pilot, that flew combat missions in Russia, but Hitler made him quit for fear he would be captured by the Russians. He might have been a murderous bastard, but he was a BRAVE murderous bastard!

I do not believe in re-writing history. Heydrich did a lot of bad things, to a lot of people (not to mention what happened in his name AFTER his death in Lidice) But a coward he was not.

We'll have to agree to disagree on this one, i think that being the architect of the Final Solution is far more than doing some "bad things" !!! and the fact he flew a few combat missions before turning his hand to the extermination of millions doesn't make him " brave " in my book.

As it happens the point i was making that none of the Nazi Hierachy were to be found in combat in the frontline trenches of the Russian Front and therefore would not have appeared in a photo such as the one you posted.

The picture could probably be dated to some degree by when Pieper was promoted to Sturmbannfuhrer as he's depicted in the scene.
