Dragoner-Regt. König Albert von Sachsen (Ostpreußisches ) Nr.10 (Allenstein) XX Armee Korps Reserve Officer
“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
•Grenadier-zu-Pferd-Regt. Freiherr von Derfflinger (Neumärkisches) Nr.3 (Bromberg)
“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
Being sold as Generalstab, but looks too pink, so putting it here:
“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
Here is a named visor to Nobility. His full name is:
Wilhelm von Maltzan Freiherr zu Wartenberg und Penzlin.
He made Rittmeister in September 1900 -
in 1909 he was a captain in Dragoner Regiment Nr.9 (1. Hannoversches)
in 1910 he transferred to the Afrika Schutztruppe
his last assignment (1914) was as Rittmeister in Dragoner Regiment Nr.17
He was retired as Major a.D. after the war (1918)
Wow.. that is a beautiful piece of work.
You could eat your dinner off it (not recommended).
Seriously, a truly superb example, with great history.
Many thanks for showing.
A beautiful , truly textbook example.
The pale yellow band & piping was for Dragoner Regt. von Bredow ( 1.Schlesisches) Nr.4, garrison Luben.
Rittmeister in the cavalry is the same rank as captain in other branches of service.

Thanks for the nice comments! The band and piping however is more pale white and not close to anything remotely yellow.
Certainly looks pale yellow on my computer & not the white shown in post # 32 above in this thread.
Perhaps poor lighting and photography on my part, but the cap is certainly no shade of yellow
