M95 Austrian Bayonet

Article about: I think this is a m95 Austrian bayonet, it seems to be in rough shape. I plan on getting a Styer m1895 to go with it some day. Is it possible to tell anything about it by the markings? Thank

    AK

Looks like a M1895 to me as well - the upward facing blade is always a good pointet.

OEWG = Österreichische Waffenfabriksgesellschaft [Austrian Arms-Manufacturing Company]

On the opposite side of the blade is an Austrian Eagle property stamp - someone far more wise than me may be able to tell which era it relates to - either Imperial or post WW1.

The four digit number on the cross guard is probably a later addition as these bayonets saw service in a number of East European countries after WW1.

Hope that is of some interest.

    Regards
