Mystery Leather harness and tools

Hi All,
I picked up this harness which is designed to be worn like a backpack. It has a few tools contained in a tin.
I am not sure what it is for but maybe a tripod or machine gun or possibly a mortar. A Militaria friend of mine said it may possibly be Austro-Hungarian so I am opening up to you for your thoughts.

I believe this may be a tube carrier for a French 60mm mortar.
A friend of mine bought one a few years back and if i remember one of these carriers came with the mortar.

Finally found out what it is for, a Spanish 60mm M51 Mortar based on the French Brandt design.
