Nice one Danny! I have been looking for one of these early C&J Heers with these fittings. I wonder if they had a slant? This is very much like a nice example owned by my friend Tom Kendall. Are you sure the blade is plated? C&J often has a flatter finish polished blade but there isn't hardly any crossgrain..Kevin.

Rare dagger!. Clemen and Jung did not produce many army daggers in the early years with most of their daggers having generic fittings from 1937 onwards.
I cannot ever remember seeing a slant C&J Kevin although those fittings suggests it is very possible. This dagger is highly desirable, not only because it is a rare maker with early configuration but for the maker mark specialists out there. The single SMALL stamped shield only appears on initial production C&J's as far as I am aware?.
The firm used E-Pack fittings as well before going Generic.
