Re: Hugo LeMarie heer dagger
Not boring to me at all - even without the wonderful provenance,
photos etc - a great dagger in excellent condition with it's
original accoutrements.
Guess I have a soft spot for them.........!

Re: Hugo LeMarie heer dagger
Totally agree!!....its nice regardless what type of dagger it is,, to see a pic of the owner with it!! John T. is a standup guy and a good dealer.
It is not the size of a Collection in History that matters......Its the size of your Passion for it!!

Re: Hugo LeMarie heer dagger
After posting the pics I forgot to do a closeup of his name engraved roughly on the backside of the cross guard!
I,ll put a pic of it up in a minute.
I wouldnt call it engraving its rough as hell!!
Maybe he did it himself certainley not a professional job

Re: Hugo LeMarie heer dagger
A lovely dagger, and as said, more special knowing who the owner was.
Congrats Pete,

Re: Hugo LeMarie heer dagger
I must admit that the owner's name engraved very bad.
If we can even call it engraved.
Very strange, maybe I'm wrong, but I do not like it.

Re: Hugo LeMarie heer dagger
Lovely early army dagger. If I was pushed to make a guess I would say that it is by Herder.
The scabbard looks relatively early as well, is the blade nickel plated? or polished. It is always difficult to tell from pictures.
Lovely dagger with the bonus of a personalisation. You are right, I have a soft spot also for the researchable pieces.
