    Hey everybody. Please take a look at this sword. I'm assuming it is all wrong, especially the painted scabbard but was wondering if the experts to could weigh in just in case this is the real deal. Thank you for any advice!

    From the pictures it looks like a "Alcoso" pattern Wehrmacht sword that has gone through a rough life-the scabbard has been repainted probably because the black paint was gone and the scabbard had some surface rust?? Is there a maker mark on the blade?? either way it is period.

    From these photos it looks like a hard used and poorly stored original to me as well.

    Thanks for the help guys. Is it even worth $100 if I made an offer for it? I've had other dovetails that were in great shape that were about $375 but this one is rough....

    $100. would be about tops -possibly with a little love and professionaly repainting the scabbard black it would return to some of its original glory_

    I would think that $100 for it is cheap.
