I am not real sure about this one but I am going to say that it is a late war example
    that has been heavily cleaned.
Judging from the soft edges to parts and scratches to the crossguard, it looks
like some one used a wire wheel to clean it up, including taking all the color
off the grip and polishing the pommel nut.

I don't know about the sheath. I don't have much experience with sheaths.

IMO the sheath is a modern replacement.

    Hello Edwin,
Are there any mold numbers on the handle anywhere?
I believe the sheath is war time if I am not mistaken, this photo shows a broadhead arrow and a B.
What piece is this photo of?
    Ralph.

    Ralph,
The /i\ B mark looks to be on the base of the handle. I know the B2 mark is the
most common however I have never seen or heard of it being placed anywhere
besides the crossguard. Also I do not see from the pictures a mold number but
according to Roy, that does not always mean post-war.
