3rd Pattern FS knife

Article about: Hi Guys, here is my third pattern "FS" knife. As you can see it is in nice condition as is the leather scabbard. I purchased this example from a Veteran who did his National Servic

    Hi Al, From my understanding the way to date the later pattern sheaths is by the way the belt loop section is attached to the main body. If its secured with rivets of a material other than brass it is post war, brass rivets or staples are wartime. I am not certain of this, though.

    I have a (probably) postwar 3rd pattern FS knife and scabbard.
    Good condition, never been used.
    No markings except "1" on handle just below pommel.
    Metal tipped leather sheath, missing top strap.
    No idea of value but I have no desire to keep edged weapons now, I am concentrating on air weapons. So it's for sale

    Hi Partisan 42 , welcome to the forum , and thanks for your comments and the link , it`s been a great help and very informative . I`m also very pleased that i have been able to confirm that one of my FS knives is of the period , as i had suspected !

    There is some other very small text under the Rodgers mark which I cannot make out.? I don't have any pics of the markings on file, so I will do some once I get chance in daylight.
    Hello Ade, you probably know this by now since it's an old post but if not then the wording under the William Rodgers name is their motto/trade mark wotsit...

    I have a replica of a Fairbairn Skyes knife but Im trying to find a post-war one which was used in World War 2.I found this one but Im not sure if its original.Can anyone help?
