    I would like to know my FS knife is genuine or a copy. I think this is a third pattern, but there is no stamp on the guard.

    Looks like a good 3rd Pattern from these pictures, the crossguard is the thicker type which is a good sign

    I think it may have been tipped however

    I Believe the "3" on the handle refers to the maker.

    The "3" does not mean which pattern of it ?

    The number relates to the moulding used to cast the handle, they were cast by various company's who used the same moulds

    It may have simply missed the inspection process
