On the LHS
General der Infanterie Hermann von François wearing a strange cap badge LHS.
Weimar officer painted portraits are rare--here iFriedrich von Schellwitz (1893-1978), who was a General during the TR.

These are TR, but follow the above post.
v. Boetticher has been described as "Hitler's Ambivalent Attaché" to the USA.
(He was awared the Knights Cross to the KVK by Hitler upon his return from the US after Germany declared war).
