“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
The 1935 badge I do not see, but should not be there
as the steel helmet symbol is being positioned. The cap
should actually have the NSDAP early eagle form.
Sorry Chris, I made a mistake there apparently (I mean in the book).
The eagle should have been positioned, as when there is a pin for 1935.
Just for the days the event took place the badge was allowed to be worn
there.
It is practically sure someone pinned on the badge, not knowing about the
period of time. Before about 1933 there was the steel-helmet, so a badge
could be from that period; after then the eagle came and so was the badge
worn.
Wim, it appears that I mixed up the visors of my friend--here are the correct photos of the one in your book:
“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
Yes, I know, but whatever: the 1935-tinny does not belong to a cap as early as this one
with just two cockades (not even a steel-helmet badge is included).
That was my mistake. The tinny only could be worn with a cap with the early political eagle
(mentioned in post 25).
Unmarked example w/ leather visor:
“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
ShB by C.L.W. (TK is added):
“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
State cockade is missing backing plate (Württemberg).
