    Chaps

This came today which I bought yesterday actually. Now I have it in hand I dont like it so its going back. I dont think the finish is original, to me in hand it looks like its been reblued. saying that it could be a late war finish but I doubt very much. If anyone else has a 1942 luger can you compare for me? The take down toggle is not marked and looks like a modern replacement. The grips for me are from a WW1 luger (marked 89 on back) and the screws that hold the grips in place are modern replacements in my eyes. I would be interested to hear other opinions, John where art thou, read this thread

The finish looks like it was done by a guy more used to tarring and felting a shed roof, and the white paint smudged into the stamped markings is horrible. Just for that I would send it back, sorry.

    Hi Ben,
I am not a fan of this one. In the third picture with the safety on, that shouldn't be blued.
So I agree, re-blued and not to the highest standard.
Magazine should either be black Bakelite base, or maybe alloy base but fxo not 122 coded.
I also think it has areas that are pitted and then re-blued, the first picture of the second batch on the toggle?
    Just my observations and opinions.
So back she goes, and I don't blame you.
At least in the meantime your not short of a P08 or two!
