This is a great looking Luger you have Ben. In the holster check and see if the front sight tool is there. It would look like a pin or small metal dowel for adjusting the front sight. Most of these were lost with time. iI have only seen a few of these.

I will have a look John but I am sure there is nothing else in there BTW you were bang on with the side plate, I put an original on there and it clicked so it must be the replacement side plate thats the problem

Lovely piece, I too need at least one luger one day! Do you have any pics of all of your luger collection together on the forum? That would be a sight to see...

    Ben:
    Glad to help Mate!
These lugers are made like a sewing machine. One little glitch and they won't work.

Yes and that is if You are lucky enough to find one. There are repros but they are scarce and go for crazy money.I was told that because the magazine was external it was prone to damage and also would collect rain like a bucket resulting in the thin steel plate rusting away.Hence the rarity.

LOL mate PMSL here but in two weeks ish I should have a 1915 luger if all goes well, things will then slow down or my back will give way. Working weekends for my nephew laying kerb slabs to get extra cash is crippling me but all goes towards new lugers

While you're picking up a snail drum for it, be sure the drum comes with it's leather holster...
