Even if it's not the exact holster that was issued with it, it's still a decent Luger holster and I'd definitely keep the pair together. Luger's are great shooters when they're not jamming from deformed lips on the clips-the only prob, is they sometimes have a tendency to toss the brass back in your face! Me? Shooting-wise, I'd stick with the P-38 ! A no-nonsense war gun that get's the job done and no problems! William
Did you get the 2 for a good price? What did they end up setting you back??

Lol - Is one now a shooter, and the other just for the collection ?

The Luger has been one of my favorite pistols, ever since
the first time I saw one, but I've never fired one
nor do I own one. Perhaps some day.........!

Congrats on aquiring these fabulous guns !
    Regards,

    Steve.

I paid $1200 USD for the S/42 vet PU and $700 for the byf import marked one. The P-38 I gave $800 USD it is a vet PU with holster also. So you do think the top holster is a period one?

Thanks, the 1937 S/42 is a safe queen I can't bring myself to shoot it, I am for sure keeping it for my collection. The byf 41 I thought i would shoot a little for now and maybe trade for something else later on down the road, I just could not pass it up for $700 US with 1939 marked holster and take down tool.

Looks good to me-you've got a fine pair of Lugers! And that was a Fine deal!(the takedown tool alone is pricey!) The holster is either vintage or Just postwar, but either way, no problems. William
