1936 Olympic Games medal

Article about: I have seen this one for sale, and it looks good compared to the only 2 others I have seen for sale. I know the enamel is not in A1 shape, and missing a couple of neck feathers on the adler.

    Hi Al,

I see no problems in originality. A geniuine cross 2nd class in it's original case, possibly by Godet or Deschler & Sohn from looking at it's characreristics. An allowance in slight variations should be taken into consideration due to the nature of the hand enamelling process, and this looks fine to me.

    Regards, Ned.

Thanks Ned, Assuming the box is the correct one with the Olympic symbol on the front, what sort of value would you place on it for a private purchase? I have seen cased originas on a retail site for $1300, so I would guess at around $800.
