Default advice on SA collar tabs

Hi everyone, I would really appreciate some help with SA insignia. I am looking for insignia to add to my stripped SA brown shirt and I am well aware how problematic this task is. The shirt is unpiped and of wartime manufacture. I have added a wartime type junior ranks shoulder board with a grey base for SA foot units, and am looking for matching collar tabs. I have found the following tabs for a Scharfuhrer online for a good price and am wondering are they authentic? Are they correct for a wartime shirt? and are they for an SA foot unit as I believe?

The shirt is a work in progress and I am aware that the belt is not correct.

My research suggests that these tabs are OK for this jacket but I would be very grateful for an opinion by someone with more experience.

The SA introduced branch color in 1939 (with light grey identifying foot units as you said), but it was worn as a shoulder board underlay only.

Collar patches remained in the group color. Light grey collar patches were worn by SA personnel in the Generalgouvernement (i.e. occupied Poland).

So, collar patches and shoulder board underlay did not have to match and usually didn't, but the combination of light grey collar patches and light grey shoulder board underlay would be correct for a member of a wartime SA foot unit in the GG specifically.

Sorry; I cannot comment on the authenticity of the collar patches.

Should he see this thread, Wim Saris will surely be able to add more data.

The collar tabs are definitely genuine. However, the set is unissued and the right tab lacks the chain stitched unit designation. Therefore, they would not be correct for weatr on your shirt. As it is a war time shirt, you can match any set of war time tabs with the shirt as long as they do not have a specialist evice such as a nachrichten blitz or reiter crossed lances.

Thats great advice, as I would expect from you gentlemen. Thank you.

I have been looking on line for SA tabs for sale but am finding very few. Can anyone point me to a dealer who has some? Also how does one distinguish wartime tabs from pre- war? I have been reading about SA insignia all afternoon but its very confusing.
