This is I think a rare SA pin and actually and without sounding mawkish, one that holds a special place in my collection.
The pre 1933 SA pins as my favourite are becoming so difficult to find these days!

David

A great pin Pete.
The motto displayed is quite interesting, as it was once mentioned to me by goodness knows who that the slogan as "Ich Half der SA" was adopted when the organisation (SA and others) was temporarily disbanded in April 1932. I have a pin that declares the 13th, however Jill Halcomb in "The SA-A Historical Perspective" suggests the 15th.
Is the exact date really important I ask myself?

David
Interesting info David. New to me.
Excuse the sporadic replies, for some reason I am not informed when someone post on this thread.

As far as I know it was by a law of emergency law (Notverordening) from April 13, 1932 "zur Sicherung der Staatsautorität"
the SA and SS were forbidden (as they were seen as a private army in Germany). The next day the NSDAP went too court
about this!
