Hi, I have been offered a small selection of badges purchased at auction. The buyer has offered them to me but my knowledge on the subject of German cloth is not too good. A dealer tod him that they are original and has placed a very high value on them?

I would be most grateful if anyone could advise me on their authenticity and if possible a rough value estimate. The dealer has possibly put a silly value on them as they were not offered to him for sale??

Thank you in advance for any assistance given

    Regards M Ryan

    Well Michael, IMO
the sniper badge is a type that first appeared in 1958
The two BeVo eagles look like similar reproductions that I have seen.
There seem to be a lot of the RVD Kiev badges knocking about so I wouldn't hold out much hope for the rest however a cloth collector might be able to give you some more insight.

    All the best

Hello Michael. Alot to look at in a single post but I feel that most of the insignia shown are bad imo. The sniper badge looks poorly embroidered and falsely aged, the edelweiss looks odd with the bold black outline of the center of the flower, the Jaeger patch looks like the repro shown in this thread. The tinnie may be ok and perhaps the Bevo m43 insignia. Fred Green is guy to look these over but I personnaly wouldn't be all in on the lot. JMO. Best regards.

Hi Brian, Your response is greatly appreciated and, as I said to Doug, does not surprise me. Ithink that someone is taking the Michael and I will undoubtedly steer well clear of them!!

    Thank you once again MR
