you seem to be posting a lot of fakes what the hell kind of a eagle is that the cap may be original but that eagle is not correct
tom
Is the hat very tiny or is the damn eagle extremely huge?!

I'm posting whats on offer at auctions local to me, there are some British medals in this auction that i know slightly more about and if the medal lot looks to me like it could be from a house clearance/ deceased estate then its possible the hat is a bring back. The local auction houses who tend to do these clearance lots don't have the specialised knowledge in things ww2 German so it just gets lumped in. At the present time this appears to be the only way to obtain reasonably priced militaria other than if you own a reclamation yard in New York.
The visor might be ok, but the eagle is way off. I have doubts on the visor. There is something Polizei like about it.
the insignia should look like this, The Collector's Guild
Either the cap is way small or the insignia way too big??
Tom
The shape of this hat is incorrect for the period. Of course, the fkae insignia has already been addressed. Recently, there was another hat posted with the same fake eagle. The eagle is a copy of a Kreigsmarine administrative tropical pith helmet eagle. My feeling is this is a total fake.

Thanks for the replies, won't bother with this one but i still like the British medals on offer. I have seen a hat with a eagle as large as this either in a period photo or part of a film clip. It was on the visor of what appeared to elderly men who appear to have just been co opted into the volksturm, the wings of the eagle may have curved or bent slightly about halfway along the wing but i'm damned if i can locate it. Does this sound like postal service, reichsbann or some such service?
There was never a visor cap eagle of this size used or authorized on any 3rd Reich era schirmutze.
