    Default DAF Cloth Cap Badge

    Hello All,
in all my years of collecting this item below is a first for me.
It measures around 5 inches wide and is nicely put together.

I don't have a problem believing that it is an original piece but as anyone any idea when and where it may have been used?

    Any opinions appreciated

    All the best
    Doug

It's for wear on the peaked cap of the DAF's Werkscharen, more specifically, for higher ranks of the Werktrupp as well as for honorary members.

Thank You HPL2008 for the input it is much appreciated.
From the research that I have done it seems that there are two different grades...The gold and the silver and both examples could come in metal as well as the cloth versions.

All I need is a golden embroidered eagle to go with it!

    Juan,
I tracked some nice visors with the badge displayed over on the WAF forum.

    All the best

    That's right:

Silver metal wreath = Werkschar men of the Stoßtrupp of ranks up to and including Rottenführer
Silber embroidered wreath = Werkschar leaders of the Stoßtrupp ranked Werkscharmeister or higher

Gold metal wreath = Werkschar men of the Werktrupp of ranks up to and including Rottenführer
Gold embroidered wreath = Werkschar leaders of the Werktrupp (= Betriebsblock-, Betriebszellen- and Betriebsobmann, DAF officials/ -functionaries) and Ehrenwerkscharmänner.
