Dagger in wear

Hi,

I know some uniforms had the dagger slot with and without the leather strap, but how was the dagger worn using this slot ? I tried getting the idea with the period photos but it only makes sense with the dagger having a carrier.

There was an adjustable over the shoulder strap with metal attachment for the dagger hanger This was worn under the tunic with the metal attachment worn through the slot

I do not know what you mean by the leather strap.

If you mean the leather hanger on a SA, NSKK or SS dagger, the same would be true as to that used on a military uniform except with a ring instead of a snap.

Here is the strap in the dagger slot as part of the tunic - forestry in this case.
