Re: Gruppe Niederlande der R.A.D sleeveshield
I don't doubt that there were any number of construction methods used including multi-construction or bevo weave. I would love to see photos of your piece.

Re: Gruppe Niederlande der R.A.D sleeveshield
Just new to this forum maybe I can give some details to a subject I like.
The information is from the RAD Verordnungsblatt from May 13, 1944.
These patches officially were introduced to be worn by course-participants at
RAD schools. Since spring 1944 authorized to wear the mentioned:
Flandern with indication V.A.V.V. (Vrijwillige Arbeidsdienst voor Vlaanderen';
Kroatien with indication Hrvatzka (this means Croatia);
Niederlande with the indication Nederland (this means Niederlande);
Norwegen with the indication Norge
The Rumanians did wear another form, which had the indication MTR, which
in fact means Munca Tineretului Roman.
these patches were worn at the left upper arm. No swastika brassard was to be worn.
It was especially mentioned that the earlier worn cuffbands were no longer allowed
to be worn. If I do find more information I will let you know. It is of course possiblt that
the one or the other manufacturer did understand the order wrong and so embroidered
Niederlande instead of Nederland. Such things often happened.
