Has anyone seen one of these before? It was most likely a stickpin badge seeing the rear of the badge. It is quite small at 26mm high and about 17mm across. When I was sent the photos it looked way bigger and was described as a tinnie. Was it made in Italy or germany? Any info would be great. Thanks.

Thanks Ade. That's what I was thinking too. Maybe someone else will be able to tell us more about what it was for, apart from the obvious Nazi - Fascist connection.

Your badge is original and it has been coined, as many others of the same sort, in order to celebrate l' alliance Italian-German. Its value in Italy is of 30 euros

Hello, these were made to commemorate the Rome-Berlin Axis. It depicts the two heads of state: Adolf Hitler of Germany, and Benito Mussolini of Italy, with the words: “Roma-Berlino” on a column emanating from a swastika. The Rome-Berlin Axis originated in October 1936, with an accord reached by Hitler and Mussolini. The axis was solidified by an Italian-German Alliance in May 1939. was known as "The Pact of Steel ", For a stickpin it is unusually large (about 1 inch high). It was originally made for distribution in Italy, thus the Italian spelling of the names of the cities (Roma, Berlino), but it caught on with the German public as well and thousands were ordered by the retail companies in the German homeland. They were made in brass, copper, and silver. This is one is silver and has
"800" on the back ..it is for sale on a site for £75, a silver one being harder to find.....( most of this info you know already.)
Our principle is that the Party commands the gun and the gun must never be allowed to command the Party.

We should rid our ranks of all impotent thinking. All views that overestimate the strength of the enemy and underestimate the strength of the people are wrong.
