    Hey guys, hope i have this in the right section.

    It looks to be a 1 Reichspfennig minted in Stuttgart (F on the reverse).

    Exactly correct. As with the later Deutschmark there were 100 pfg in a Mark so this is really a Nazi period "penny". Most TR collectors probably have a few coins like this as window dressing in their displays. I have a couple of 1 & 2RM pieces. There is nothing unusual about this coin as there were of course millions of them as with any currency and as such the value is as you would imagine nugatory.

    As I say, worth displaying along with badges etc as are things like bus tickets and such to add some context or background to your display.

    Regards

    Mark
    Ps These are mint indicators I have come accross before but not being a coin buff I can't say if there should be 'H' marks;

    A = Berlin.
    B = Vienna. Also known as Wien.
    D = Munich.
    E = Muldenhutten.
    F = Stuttgart.
    G = Karlsruhe.
    J = Hamburg

    "War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing he cares more about than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature with no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."

    It's nothing special and not even from the wartime, look at the year it is dated. In war they were made out of zinc, this earlier pieces are out of copper if I remember correctly.

    It's still a neat piece and it sounds as though the price was right.

    "H" will not appear on Third Reich coins; it was used for the Hessian mint at Darmstadt from 1872 to 1882.

    A complete list of these marks can be found on this German language Wikipedia page:

    https://de.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/M%C3....A4geanstalten

    A, D, F, G and J are still in use today and appear on German Euro coins.
