There certainly seems to be plenty of them about for a rare badge, LOL.

Great work on this and thankfully I never bought one of these.

    Love the sheep, being Welsh.
    Regards,

    Jerry

    Whatever its just an opinion.

I guess the collector will know that items made for a few, during the final war months, should be rare, and should be rarely encountered. I guess the dealers should also know this.
But if many dealers have them, and describe them as rare, then the others follow - and why not? if they are selling; which they obviously are, and if they are only a few €uros a pop from someone who sells really good fakes; which they are, they why not "go along" and follow suit? After all, we all have bills that need to be paid. I guess it really is up to each person to inform himself. Or, alternatively risk facing a huge shock when you show someone your collection.

I actually wanted to buy 10 of these from Japan, and sell them on my site. Then after a few months come up with some article about them, and how easy it was to fool people, (and give everyone i fooled their cash back of course), but decided against that.. too flamboyant, too over the top, would rather just stick to being black and woolly.

I prefer mine with mint sauce mind you.

As an aside I can look out of my study window and see sheep every day.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. If we save one person from being stuck with one of these, the thread serves a purpose. I also appreciate the avitar and completely understand the black humor attached to it. I am starting to believe that soon, the mass fabrication of fakes and fantsies will outnumber all genuine relics.

Keep up the good work Jo! A well researched "Black Sheep" is what many a forum needs to keep the
common sense factor on an even keel.
