Found this today. It look to be unissued but I wonder why the staple and old paper.

I have passed on many with stains and such but it looked so nice so it is my first.

Hello,

This is the first pattern Heer sport shirt eagle. It probably had a paper tag stapled to it. This one has been trimmed really close.

Hello Eric,

The sport shirt emblem came as a rectangle in its issued form. Some of the excess material was trimmed off and the rest folded underneath like a BeVo edelweiss or Jaeger patch. Here are 1st and 2nd pattern eagles and a unit shield for the shorts. The unit patch is for III Battalion 6th Field Artillery .
