Bought this today...not sure about it at all.
I have been going through some books I have, and a few web sites but I don't know if it is real or not...or what it is...I hate to say.

I cannot comment on the item's authenticity; but I can tell you what it is:
This has nothing to do with the SS; it is a sleeve badge for Technische Beamte [= technical officials] of the Kriegsmarine, more precisely, for officials of the elevated career group [= gehobener Dienst].
(Technical officials of the medium-level career group [= mittlerer Dienst] had one triangle below the eagle, while those of the high-grade career group [= höherer Dienst] had three.)

Thanks HLP....Kriegsmarine...that's why I couldn't figure it out. I was looking in the wrong branch of service.
