This is not a Supreme Department armband, but rather a Kreisleitung -which is for a District Level. The White Piping indicates it belonged to a Department Leader. It looks to be a good and authentic Second Pattern piece-possibly unissued, from the appearance of the paper tag. These bands are uncommon but not extremely rare. They generally sell for around the $650-700 range.

As stated, a period original armband with a proper "F" code RAM tag. In the past, the copies of these golden paheasants armbands have been poorly executed. However, there is a much better fake these days on the market that closely replicates the oakleaf embroidery. However, the swastika is a little sloppy and they have an incorrect RZM letter code on the tag. I am mentioning this as a warning to anyone interested in obtaining one of these.

The arrow on the armband is indicating which way is the top of the armband as period photos can show them mounted upside down on tunics.

So from what everyone is saying, and from what I understand by what you said Bob, that this is a pretty nice piece?
