I would leave it as it, Maybe put it behind glass for future protection.

Leave it as is!

Put it behind some glass with acid free backing if you frame it. I would never restore something like that.

Theres really not a lot that someone can do with this, and any repair will show, best leave alone, and as GP says place under glass

What would something like this be worth framed and placed behind glass? I know it depends on the frame used - $650 - or more?

I would pay around $850 - $1000 if its framed correctly.

I would get a peice of brass, engrave it to what it is, and frame it right.. great for any collector to display.

The moth holes could be rewoven by a professional but the cost to do so would be prohibitive.
I think the suggestions about mounting on acid free board and framing is an exellent idea.

I do agree. Try to figger out witch underground* would be best. First thing that comes up to me is a similar red undergroud just as big as the armband is, that might make the moth holes less obvious.

* by "underground " I mean the acid free paper that would be used at the back (don't know if the translation is right!)
