Not my "cup of tea" Pete, however congratulations on adding a very rare pin to your eclectic collection.

    Regards,

I like the design on this

Tinnies are not what I would collect but some of the designs are superb !

Eclectic, is that similar to eccentric David?
I was about to add this one to the SA thread, but I believe it may also be SS.

I am sure you are aware the Quedlinberg tinnie is very desirable but has been faked.

There is a large thread on waf which is very interesting if you haven't already seen it

    Congrats again

    ...eccentric David?...
Dear Pete, being regarded as eccentric David is a sobriquet that I shall cherish forever. Seriously though, SS is not my forte, although the attached early combined SA/SS pin is I think a little special. It does however I think appear somewhere on the "growing like topsy" SA pin thread - which is great !

Again, congratulations on the Quedlinburg SS Pete.

    Regards,

    David

Pete, I forget to mention - why do you think SS? Regards, David

Yes, thanks Nick, I am also a member there, and did some serious research before I acquired it, plus asking Robin Lumsden to give it the eyeball.

I really did miss out the comma by mistake, David. (almost did it again there)
Re. Sturmbann III/1. Well I found the information on google, buggered if I can find it now. I suppose its possible that it is an SA unit having a meeting there. Difficult to sort out which are SA units and which SS without more in depth research. Is it to do with the Roman numeral (I) following the unit designation rather than the other type (i.e. 107 etc.) Not my forté. My head hurts.
    Pete
