RAD (Gau) leaders armshield/patch

Article about: Hi all, I recently acquired this pretty RAD shoulder patch. Called 'Armelabzeichen' or 'armelspaten' (lit. 'arm spade') in German. I believe it is a leaders patch, more specific: Gau-fuhrer

Before Wartheland-West it was simply indicated as Wartheland
in November 1939. The last change into West came early 1942.

The black Roman numbers upon yellow just were only worn by a
    Generalarbeitsführer when being a Arbeitsgauführer.
I cannot figure out here if it is a "officers" version. Neither do I know
if there is an enlisted version for persons, assigned to the above
    mentioned!

It is included in the official colored plate:
    "Abzeichen des Reichsarbeitsdienstes" from 1936.
