Before Wartheland-West it was simply indicated as Wartheland
in November 1939. The last change into West came early 1942.

Never seen the all black shield before - where these commonplace, usually black & read.

The black Roman numbers upon yellow just were only worn by a
Generalarbeitsführer when being a Arbeitsgauführer.
I cannot figure out here if it is a "officers" version. Neither do I know
if there is an enlisted version for persons, assigned to the above
mentioned!

It is included in the official colored plate:
"Abzeichen des Reichsarbeitsdienstes" from 1936.
