With many subjects I have persons at hand that mentor me for many years.
For example I asked my RAD-mentor in Germany about the jacket and he
came with this answer, he got from a former RAD-member:
"I did wear one myself. Pitily I do not have further information, except I know
the jacket I did receive in fall 1944. The one I got was not from a good quality
material, but liked it better as the old and very worn uniform we had. I do not
remember if we got just the jacket, or also a complete new uniform.
Best regards Horst".
What we need now, is an actual photo. Maybe one day such photo will show up!
Thanks to my RAD-mentor, who is helping me for at least 35 years. He is my
back-up for many difficult questions!

Congratulations on acquiring a very rare tunic. One of these days it will end up illustrated in a reference book.

Many thanks to Wim. for going the "Extra Mile" as usual... Yes... A photo would be nice. I will scour my many pics for any evidence of such one. G

Wilhelm thanks for the private message and the research. I am very fortunate to have not passed on this tunic. I guess even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile. I would offer a $25.00 reward to anyone who can send me a period photo of this tunic in wear in 1944. I will pay postage for the photo. Good luck in the quest. I would say in 1944 the Nazi's were likely not posing for many photos and most likely if we did find a photo it would be from the back as they were running for Berlin from the allied forces and the Russians.

Looks great - as the war progressed lots of regulations went by the wayside, it was all supply and demand.
