RAD-tunics, global survey 1933-1945

Article about: I tried to create a sort of chronological survey about the development of the various, official tunics as worn by the males from the RAD during the period 1933 through 1943. For this I have

An interesting set of tunics shown below, appears to be short, two pocket jackets, work tunics with covered buttons?

Nothing in Organisationsbuch der NSDAP I could find, or any of Wims excellent references, they're marked and dated as Arbeitsdienst, 391/3, 1942/43, Mühlental.
In some ways the dresses do look like the camp dress for HJ Wehrertüchtigungslager.
Maybe the WEL dresses/uniforms were re-tailored for RAD purposes. Just like that!

Thanks Wim, is that an extract from one of your books?

Yes, the photos are from the HJ-handbook.
I have more photos boxed with this style of uniform. I have many more of them.

Can you make a good scan from the head with cap, as I would like to see what is worn in front!

If they are from eBay it will not be possible, as the resolution is much too low!

with the earlier photos shoulder-straps are worn, not with these two photos.
I thought they were taken at the WEehrertüchtigungslager at Dettendorf about 1943.

Maybe the difference between WEL and RAD is just the wearing of a closed or open collar.
For the RAD the dess is not mentioned in documentation.

Sorry that I missed this Wim, don't know how I managed that, but the picture was off the internet so no higher resolution is possible unfortunately.

    Dear all,

... maybe you already know: My father told me because of it's shape the special RAD cap was called by them 'Arsch mit Griff' (literally 'arse with handle').

    With best wishes

In memory of my father who was in K-Einsatz, combat engagement, with the RAD in the Alps in 1945, of my grandfather who was with the IR 87 during campaign in France in 1940 and of my grand-uncle who served in the Gardegrenadierregiment Nr. 3 "Königin Elisabeth" and who was killed in action at Craonne, Chemin des Dames in France in 1917
