Article about: Here is a DLV visor,unfortunately missing its chin strap.

    Original photo , interesting uniforms, daggers etc , are they RLB or if not what are they ??

    Hi Paul, they are DLV, Deutscher Luftsportverband.. Set up in order to train men in flying etc in March 1933 before the Luftwaffe officially came into being. Disbanded and merged into the NSFK in 1937.

    Their uniforms formed the basis of those used by the Luftwaffe. Note how similar they are, cap cockade, greatcoat, collar tabs, etc.

    Thanks Ade , i was interested in both the cap and sleeve eagles as i hadn't seen them like this on Luft related uniforms ?

    Hi Paul, yes, the small eagle has a distinct poltical look to it. The one on the sleeve is worn on a circular backing.

    Great image of the DLV uniform for other ranks. One must wonder if these young men ended up being Luftwaffe pilots.
