Willy Annetsberger from Munich for the SA. This concern did clamp the cloth to the back.
After 1936 the RZM disc was glued on to the reverse, as far as known!
Thank you Wim !
so the black "back cloth" could be replaced...
If the cloth is clamped in, one is hardly able to replace the cloth without damaging the edge.
If the cloth is simply glued on, then it is no problem.
All SA gorgets of the later types with glued on disc, I have seen, did have black cloth. Very
early gorgets for the SA occasionally did have brown cloth.
With most observed SA gorgets, seen during the research for my book, had no cloth at all.
Maybe this was removed (after the war). The cloth was there for not damaging the uniform.
Thank you very much for the additional information Wim !
very nice condition.
Could it match with this ?
