From all observed gorgets in this form and a varying one, only two were original and they are shown in my gorget-book on page 299.
The shown one in this thread is on the market since the 1970's. Have not seen the one from Manion, but when it is a look-a-like
for the shown one here then it is obvious what it is!
Page 296 shows the form of the gorget in wear. With one one can see vaguely the simple eagle and indication, but it is hardly visible in
the book. Photographs of this gorget in wear are even more harder to find then the fake gorget, which pops up so now and then!
Guys thanks for the help my friend bought this one and now I have the dis pleasure of telling him the bad news .
