I often wonder how many fire police officer boards have been sold as panzer boards over the years?

I also presume that the base color wasn't attached to a piece of green plastic like material?

Also just one question about the colors, with the city and rural police tunics the color of the arm eagle and the back of the collar tabs match the base color of the shoulder boards, is this the same for all of them? Like the world war two versions of these shoulder boards would they be worn with a black thread arm eagle and black backed collar tabs and so on with all the other colors?

Is the facing color the middle? what color was it if you weren't medical?

The base color is the under color. The facing color is the center of the board. From as far as I can find, a Vet would wear an eagle the same color of the branch he was attached to. So a rural Vet would have an orange eagle, a city Vet would have a green eagle and so on. But everything you said in the first half of your paragraph is correct, the tabs, boards and eagles should all match.
