OK, Jungmädel leistungsabzeichen.
My latest acquisition. Thanks to Chrys for the thumbs up on this piece.
Posted pic of it next to another badge merely for size comparison.
Tom
Nice one, never seen that before.

These 'Spende Münze' or 'Donation Coins' seem to be mostly found in Vienna. I personally do not have any information as to why they are found there. I assume that there is some sort of reason behind it...my guess would be local traditions. It is the same as any other WHW donation piece...perhaps they were a part of a special collection specific to one area in Vienna (just speculation on my part).
Is it just me or are the hands on the coin kind of creepy!?
Good find Tom!
Chrys
Good point about the Vienna connection Chrys.
I find the hands graceful and receiving myself.
But I do work in the Funeral industry

Chrys, thats because they were for the NSDAP in Gau Wien, Austria. The obverses have a denomination on them, either 1, 3, 5 S[chillings] etc...... They are actually quite common, and pop up at MA shops, Münzenauktion etc.. on a regular basis. Obviously before the 1938 anschluß, hence the old currency and GAU instead of Großgau... but exactly when? possibly between 1926-1933/4, (more realistically from around the early 30s though) but WHW items are also known to have been made in Austria all the way through the Ban of 1933, and even after the total ban in 1934 - after the failed Austrian Putch attempt.
These kind of Donation coins are a collectible area on their own, with many different ones known, (both NSDAP in Austria as well as the NS-Hitlerbewegung) normal WHW as well as just a donation coin to help NSDAP members in jail. Some of them even contain similar slogans to those found on Propaganda badges, like NUN ERST RECHT ....
