Hi Tony,
Well, the obvious thing is that it would be to a Signals unit (Brilliant deduction, Holmes!)... but I shall scour my references for something a little more useful!
Cheers,

Hello Bob
Thanks for your help
Tony
Maybe I'm missing something here, but how do we know it's German, military-related and/or from WW2?
It doesn't have the same type of pin furling usually seen on TR stickpins.
Most, but not all had the furling... many had this ribbed style.
There is a current thread running, by Aldo, that shows just such pins.
Unfortunately, I haven’t yet had to work out how to include a link!
All the best,
Bob
Try this...
Hope I got it right!
Stick Pin Collection
I went through Al's thread I didn't really see a match, which ones were you thinking of.
There are several, throughout the thread. Post #1 shows at least a couple.
Looking closely at Tony’s, it has the diagonal crimping seen on various examples in Aldo’s splendid collection, rather than the more defined ‘twist’ style.
